Connie Copley's jewelry, like a diamond redeemed from the pawnbroker, finds its way into new hands and second chances.
In Copley's studio, antique cape closures, old dress buckles, and broken strands of once cherished beads wait their turns for fresh life. Here, among the boxes and jars of vintage goods, Copley imagines new purpose for a 1920's Art Deco hat pin. Paired with a rhinestone shoe clip and licorice Bakelite dress buckle, the original arrow shaped relic becomes the focal point for a lapel. The shape and apple-red vibrance inform its name. Copley christens the new pin, "Power Point."
Copley (whose business name is The ConArtist, LLC) enjoys a loyal fan base. New and long time clients collect her signature lines of pendants and brooches because of their originality, craftmanship, and resounding statement on the little black dress.
